Growth is a good thing, and we’re happy to have everyone.

For DART launches to run safely and efficiently, we need volunteers to help run the range. Critical positions include Range Safety Officer (RSO), Launch Control, and Pad Assignment (queue control). We also need people to help new rocketeers load models at the pad and to teach good techniques for recovery device packing and igniter installation.

DART can always use more volunteers to help keep launches moving safely. It’s actually quite fun and can be very rewarding. It’s also a great way to “pay it forward” and help the model rocketry community.

We will teach anyone interested about the details and reasons for range operation. If you come early (8 AM) at a launch, we can spend ten minutes teaching you what we do. Or if you get there later, let one of us know you’re interested in helping and we’ll explain as we go. After a small amount of training, you can confidently step in when you see a need.

Any and all help will be appreciated. Contact any of the club officers or DART personnel at a launch for more information.

DART launches have been getting larger with increased attendance across the board including individuals, families, scouts, and TARC teams.
