DART contests are free and open to all.<\/p>\n<p>The NAR uses the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/National-Rocketry-Competition-Explained-Aug-2017.pdf\">National Rocketry Competition<\/a>&#8221; (NRC) format.\u00a0 Using this approach, contestants can fly any or all of six standard events.\u00a0 A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.org\/nrc-scoreboard\/\">leader board<\/a> is posted for competitors nationwide.\u00a0 Qualifying flights can be made at any DART launch with at least two NAR members.<\/p>\n<p>The NRC events for 2024-2025 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FAI Streamer Duration using 1\/2A motors (2 flights)<\/li>\n<li>FAI Parachute Duration using 1\/2A motors (2 flights)<\/li>\n<li>A Payload Altitude (altimeter)<\/li>\n<li>B Rocket\/Glider Duration<\/li>\n<li>B Helicopter Duration<\/li>\n<li>D Dual Eggloft Altitude (altimeter)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are good events that can be flown by beginning competitors as well as experienced flyers.\u00a0 Most of these events &#8220;fit&#8221; the size of our Fiesta Island field, when the wind cooperates.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact Chris Flanigan (<a href=\"mailto:ccflanigan@alum.mit.edu\">ccflanigan@alum.mit.edu<\/a>) for additional information.\u00a0 See the NAR web site for event rules.\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nar.org\/contest-flying\/us-model-rocket-sporting-code\/\">http:\/\/www.nar.org\/contest-flying\/us-model-rocket-sporting-code\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contests can be a fun way to evaluate performance, earn NAR contest points, and qualify for NARtrek requirements.
